On the Eve of Fasting (June 1st)

A Time for Everything

Ecclesiastes 3:1

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:

Now, is the time for praying.

Philippians 4:6

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

At this time, some of us have already begun our time of united fasting. Others will soon join us. After you have finished eating for the day, turn to God and pray in preparation for tomorrow.

Consider praying for:

God's Glory and Honor let's acknowledge God as our Creator, the almighty Lord of heaven and earth. Let's praise Him for loving us, for sending His Son, Jesus, to die for our sins. And, let's praise Him for sending the Holy Spirit to minister to us.

Forgiveness let's enter our period of fasting and prayer as forgiven brothers and sisters in Christ. Let us confess our sins to God.

God's Presence ask God to be present among us as we unite together in fasting and prayer. Ask Him to provide us with grace and to hear our prayers.

God's Healing Power Let's be very clear about our purpose. Let's tell God that we are uniting in prayer for the complete healing of Adam Root.

Ecclesiastes 3:14

I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that men will revere him.

First Timer?

Is this your first time fasting and praying with us? If so, an extra-special welcome! And, I encourage you to read the "Eve of Fasting" post from our first week.
