Lifting Jesus High

Barring a change since Amy's post on Tuesday, Adam is headed for another surgery on Thursday. Pray for the physicians, nurses, and others involved in his care. Pray that God will provide them with wisdom, discernment, attentiveness, and skill to be at their best. Pray that they will all get a night of restful sleep.

Yes, we are praying for Adam's healing. Yes, many of us have felt the presence of the Holy Spirit over the past several weeks. Yet, it is not about Adam, or us. As Hillary wrote at dinner time, pray that Jesus' name will be honored. It's all about Him, not us. We 'wanna' see Jesus lifted high!

As Adrienne wrote, earlier today, look up! Continue to pray that God would be glorified as the result of Adam's accident, his suffering, and his healing. I do want to see Adam healed. Yet, I know that it is more important to look up and see Jesus lifted high.

John 11:4

When he heard this, Jesus said, "This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God's glory so that God's Son may be glorified through it."

John 12:23

"The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.

We all want to see Adam healed. We don't want him to suffer any more neurological storming,  or be forced to endure more surgeries. We want him to wake up and walk! Yet, we might have different motives for his healing.

As our day of fasting winds down, I will be praying that God helps keep my selfish motives in check. I pray that He will lead me to seek His glory in whatever plans God has for Adam, and for those of us who care about him. And, I will keep praying for a complete healing of Adam. A healing that will bring honor to God. A healing that will lift Jesus high!

Good night, and God bless.
