Eve of Fasting: Prayer

Colossians 4:2

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.

Simple instructions. Not easy, but simple.

Devoting myself to prayer is an ongoing battle. It is so easy to not pray. It is easy to not be watchful. It is easier to complain than it is to be thankful. Why? I wish there was an easy answer. I guess there is — we are all sinners and Satan wants to make it easy for us to not do these things. He goes the easy route. Satan does not challenge us to renounce our faith. He simply provides us with distractions that prevent us from following God's will for our lives.

We all need to keep encouraging each other, just as Amy did in her Saturday post, Never Give Up Praying. Of course, this is one of many of her exhortations to keep praying for Adam. Just as she urges us to pray, so we need to the same for her.

This evening, pray that Amy would continue devoting herself to prayer. This evening, take five minutes to watch this video.
