Lunch: Calming the Seas

Luke 8:22-25

One day Jesus said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side of the lake.” So they got into a boat and set out. As they sailed, he fell asleep. A squall came down on the lake, so that the boat was being swamped, and they were in great danger.

The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!”

He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm. “Where is your faith?” he asked his disciples.

In fear and amazement they asked one another, “Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him.”

    You calm the storms.
    And you give me rest.
You hold me in Your hands.
    You won't let me fold.

At breakfast, we talked about praising God, even in the midst of the storm. At lunch, we learn to depend on Jesus to deliver us from the storm. If Adam's injury, Pat's cancer, Brandon's illness, or other challenges have left you feeling like you're in a storm, count on Jesus to calm the seas of your life.

Pray that Adam's ability to process information and communicate would continue to improve. Pray that his body would continue to strengthen and that he would demonstrate improvement in physical therapy. Pray that God would bless Cookie and Aunt Gretchen with a good time while they are visiting Adam.

Also, pray for healing for Pat and Brandon.
